I have been taking a major decorating break lately. As I've been consumed with family and life and work obligations, and intentionally trying to be "present," decorating has just naturally taken a back seat. But I recently splurged on some new chairs for the breakfast nook, and I'm so excited to share them with you!
I wasn't necessarily looking for chairs for the breakfast nook, but the slip-covered ones that were in there before were always ultimately meant for the dining room. I finally got my new dining room table at the end of last year, and it just sat chair-less for MONTHS. Last weekend, I moved the Ikea slip-covered chairs from the breakfast nook into the dining room. I loved the look so much, I just couldn't bear bringing them back into the breakfast nook.
So, we began eating all of our meals in the dining room, and the table in the kitchen remained without chairs. Until I splurged and pulled the trigger on these classic farmhouse chairs from World Market. (affiliate link). They are similar to the ones sold by Restoration Hardware, but much more affordable, especially if you wait until there is a 30% off furniture sale, which I did! World Market only sells these online, so I took a gamble ordering them without being able to test them out in-store. But I gotta say, I'm completely pleased.
I love love love the weathered gray look of these chairs. And even though the seat cushions are woven, I was worried they would be too hard, but they are actually cushion-y.
Needless to say, I am loving the look of these chairs, and I think they bring some additional color, texture, and farmhouse charm to the kitchen.
Like what you see? Don't forget to pin it!
I still have so many plans for this kitchen before I'll feel close to done. Eventually, we plan to build a window seat in the bay window, upgrade all the appliances, install new floors, new counters, and a farmhouse sink. Whew! That's a lot. In the meantime, though, I'm happy with the way things are coming together.

And to see how we upgraded the island with a faux marble counter top for under $50, check this post out.
So, what do you guys think of these new chairs? Let me know in the comments below or chat with me on Instagram.
