Happy December, friends!! If you didn't start decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving (or Halloween!), today is officially the day! Now that we can all decorate for Christmas with wild and reckless abandon, I'm sharing all about my new flocked tree this year!
In the last few years, I have really fallen hard for flocked Christmas trees. Take a look at my home décor (white, splash of neutral, more white, with some pops of neutral and white) and you'll see why! Last year, a lot of the lights on my pre-lit tree went out, so this year we decided it was time for an upgrade. I've been seeing King of Christmas trees pop up all over Instagram, and I knew that's exactly what I wanted this year. We chose the 7.5 Foot King Flocked Pre-Lit Tree and are loving it.
There are so many things I love about this tree. First of all, it's gorgeous. The flocking is just so beautiful. In fact, the tree alone with just the lights and the flocking--with absolutely no ornaments on it at all--is stunning. But, of course, adding the ornaments takes this tree to the next level.
SUPER EASY ASSEMBLY
And the tree is so easy to put together. This tree came with a base and three pieces, like most traditional artificial trees do. But, unlike most artificial trees of this height, you don't have to find the end of one string of lights to plug into the next level's string of lights. The connectors are built into the center trunk. So all you have to do is slide one section in to the next, and then you're done. Of course, you still have to pull down the branches and fluff them out, but assembly is definitely easier than any other pre-lit tree I've seen.
FOOT CONTROL SWITCH
The other thing I love about this tree is that it comes with a foot control switch that makes turning the lights on and off super convenient--simply step on the floor switch! No crawling under branches to plug or unplug the Christmas tree.
I love that this tree is pre-lit. We've had an artificial tree for years--and I've always chosen pre-lit trees. Seriously, is there anything more tedious than untangling Christmas lights and stringing them around a tree? If I can avoid that hassle, you bet I will!
GOOD TO KNOW
When I first posted this tree on Instagram, I had lots of questions about it. First of all, we have 9 foot ceilings in our living room, and we chose the 7.5 foot King Flocked Tree. I love how it fills the space, and although I haven't added the tree topper yet, I think it's a perfect fit for those of you with 9 foot ceilings.
After we fluffed all the branches, some of the flocking fell to the floor. No big deal, and I think that's to be expected, but just be prepared to have a little bit of a mess on your hands once you're done fluffing and rearranging branches. You can see some fallen "snow" in the pic above, since I snapped it before I had fully swept! A quick sweep of the space, though, and you're all set.
So because this is my first flocked tree, I didn't realize that it's a little more difficult to hang ornaments on a tree with big ol' fat flocked branches. Last year, a lot of our ornaments were hung using a looped string attached to the ornament. That didn't really work well for this tree. It was just too hard to fit the loop over the big ol' beautiful branches. So, for some ornaments we added a old-fashioned hook, and that worked perfectly.
All in all, I am so in love with this tree. It's exactly what I've been wanting: the flocking is beautiful, it's easy to assemble, and I couldn't be more pleased. Believe me when I say this tree is just as beautiful in real life as it is in all the pictures you see of it all over Instagram and Pinterest.
I hope this review has helped any of you considering these beautiful trees this year!
